Too Smooth A Groove?
Top-flight musicianship in a really tight groove. The guitar work is especially tasty, but the group's overall sound is a bit thin--more like a collection of soloists than a band (which may explain why the members now are pursuing solo careers). The "Watermelon Man" cover is a high point.

Ashphunk is dope
Not many people know this, but Ashphunk used to go by Aeshphunk. Either way, no one is really sure what the name means, except for the phunk part. Clearly this band funks hard, although the members are now all doing solo projects. This is one of their classic JJHS jams...the type of show that fans are desperate to get their greedy hands on.
